The Independence Special Events Committee is holding its regular scheduled monthly meetings every 2nd Monday, 5:30pm at the Independence Fire Department. For more information email Carol Lundgren at: lundgren@ls.net

The Independence Revitalization Project.  To view some of our efforts to date click on Downtown Project under Town Links to the left. Information is available for economic restructuring, vision assessment, artisan sketches of farmers market and street scapes.

The next Regular Scheduled Independence Town Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14th, 7pm at the Independence Fire Hall located at 328 Davis Street, Independence. 

The VA/NC Water Authority will hold its regular scheduled July meeting Wednesday, July 1st, 10am at the Grayson National Bank Conference Center located at the west end of the Guynn Shopping Center, 558 East Main St.,  Independence.  The Water Authority will resume it's regular scheduled 2nd Thursday monthly meeting next month August 13th.

Water bills due by 5pm on the 5th of each month.

Water bill past due penalty accessed on the 6th day of each month.

Water bill delinquent payment due before 5pm on the 14th of each month or a water cutoff fee will be assessed and water cutoff!
Water cutoffs  on the 15th of the month or next business day!
PAY EARLY, avoid late penalties.
