About The EDA

The Independence EDA is focused on developing and growing businesses in Independence. The EDA meets the 4th Tuesday January, March, May, July, September, and November at 6pm at the Independence Volunteer Fire Department. Grant Program

The Independence EDA Grant Program is a competitive grant program to support businessowners starting and growing their business in Independence, VA. Program details may be found HERE. The grant cycle for 2024 is currently closed. The EDA may elect to open a second grant cycle in the fall. Interested parties should contact the Town Manager or EDA Chairman.

Mural Program

The Independence EDA is responsible for administering the Mural Program in the Core Commercial and General Commercial Districts. Program details, including application process can be found HERE. For more information regarding the Mural program, contact the Town Manager or EDA Chairman.
